Livestream of the 4th edition of the Visible Award held at the Queens Museum.
The Visible award is an award for art that aims to produce and sustain socially engaged artistic practices in a global context. it is based on the idea expressed by Michelangelo Pistoletto's in Progetto Arte that “it is time for artists to take upon themselves the responsibility of ensuring communication between all other human activities, from the economy to politics, to science and religion, through education and behaviour. In other words, all aspects of the social fabric.”
Finalists are chosen by a curatorial team and the winner is chosen by a "Temporary Parliament" that meets for a day to discuss these socially-engaged projects. Moderated by the talented and energetic Laura Raicovich, Director of the Queens Museum.
